Everyone's situation is different but the results are usually the same...
I've got a quick question for you...  Do you want to be able to run and enjoy it?
Do you want to be able to enter races and events...   and succeed?
Come on...   You've thought about being that person... that just runs for fun, is the envy of others because you find it so easy... The one that your friends talk about with admiration because of what you achieve or the money you've raised for charity... The source of motivation and inspiration.
So...   Why hasn't it happened for you yet? What's been holding you back, in the shadows?
What is it that's stopped your enjoyment of running?
An injury?   Not felt fit enough?   Found it uncomfortable?   Lack the co-ordination?
You want to be able to run for fun, for yourself, enter events and races but don't feel you can ever run far or fast enough...
You have that little niggle that is always made worse when you run until it's painful to walk...
You don't want to accept challenges because you don't want to let people down...
This Is The Truth About What's Holding You Back
Hey, my name is Rob and a few years ago, I was just like you....

I crossed the start line with the masses... how would I get on with the Marathon? Would I complete it? Would my knee hold up?... I was a mile in and the pain started. I'd paid for the race... I was using it as training for a bigger thing... I didn't want to fail. I couldn't fail. You know what?... I failed. Not in the way you may think but I failed because I carried on.
I ran/walked/hobbled through the pain. At the penultimate aid station, I was in agony. I asked for pain killers but was refused... it felt like someone had drilled into the side of my knee and then was prising it apart. I was barely walking and tears were being fought back. I wanted to stop but couldn't as I had no way of reaching the end without carrying on. I got to the last aid station with 4 miles to go and HALLELUJAH!
They gave me a couple of paracetamol. It didn't fix the problem but bloody hell, it got me to the end and refuge.
2 months later, I had the Snowdonia Marathon, as another training run. I didn't run again until then, having spent a fortune on supports. I can still remember the nervousness at the start, not knowing if the same thing would happen.
You see, in 2006 I was looking at things on the internet, while working in Afghanistan, and came across this race called The Marathon Des Sables... a six day, 150 mile race through the Sahara Desert. The article was fascinating and it seemed like such an adventure. I, eventually, forgot about it. Something reminded me about it a couple of years later and I decided to enter... but there was a waiting list so, I just sat on there. In 2010, I was back in Afghanistan and had come home on leave...
I had a call from the organisers... They offered me a place on the next race but I was going to be returning from foreign lands only a month before and had no way to prepare myself for it... So I deferred to the next year.
I finally started training and started getting niggles here and there. I'd had heel pain before, which turned out to be plantar fasciitis. I'd "fixed it" with custom made insoles, which cost £300... That returned. I started getting illiotibial band syndrome - pain by the outside of the knee. I spent hours smashing my legs with a foam roller, just to try and get rid of it. Every time I got an injury, it affected my training for the big event. Then I started to get a bit of pain inside the side of my knee. I gave it a little bit of rest... It felt okay. It wasn't.
The problem I had was... I had all the ambition, just too many things holding me back. I kept getting injured and... because I kept getting injured I found it difficult to run, enjoy running and prepare for events. It also made me question if I knew what I was doing with training... or whether I was good enough.
That's when I decided, I HAD to make a change.
So, first I tried using an exercise knee brace, a sprung support to hold my knee in place and help it bend. That didn't work... I found that with the vibration of running it would slide down, and irritate the back of my knee. It did help ease pain a little, while it was on but that only while it was on... and I couldn't wear it forever!

I tried a night splint for the new bout of plantar fasciitis. Guess what... that didn't work either. What it did was cost me money, be a cumbersome block on my foot as I tried to sleep and, when I did get to sleep, wake me up with pins and needles and then numbness as the circulation was cut off to my foot.

Then I tried tape. Kinesio-tape, which was a little better - the problem being, I didn't really know what I was doing and followed YouTube videos on how to apply it. I'll tell you now, it's incredibly difficult to apply correctly yourself, takes some shaving of the legs to get it to stick properly and when it is removed, even though you shaved an area, is still going to rip your hairs out with menace. I was using that much of the stuff trying to get it right, I was getting through rolls of the it. I even paid and had it done professionally and it did help, but just like the knee brace, once it was off the problem came back and it didn't neutralise the pain fully when running.

I tried sports insoles to stabilise my leg and lift the arches and give me cushioning. They were comfy...ish but didn't really help. ... I looked at different types of running shoes and had my gait analysed in a running shop and bought different types of training shoes but still, something wasn't right.
Because of my looming event in the desert, I started to read books about running the Marathon Des Sables and distance in general. Then I read Born To Run. It describes the Tarahumara tribe, in Mexico, who great distances for fun... in nothing more than homemade sandals, created from old car tyres. It details the history of persistence hunting, in Africa and the distances covered by tribesmen, running after animals over distances, bare-footed. It introduces a character from Seattle, Called Barefoot Ted. He trialled the Vibram Five Finger prototype shoes. I had heard of and seen Vibram Five Fingers before but not paid much attention. I started to think... maybe all of the problems I'd had were of my own making in my choice of footwear.
I bought some Vibrams and started to research barefoot running. I read books on barefoot running, chi-running, took the online Vivobarefoot course in barefoot movement.
The plantar fasciitis disappeared and knees got better. In training I kept thinking back to what I'd read and tried to implement it. I'd spent so long training myself to move badly that the Marathon Des Sables was run in a normal trail shoe.
And that's when I decided that I needed some proper guidance on what to do to improve my running. Someone looking and telling where I was going wrong and how I could improve. I booked on a barefoot running coach course so I could help myself and others. And guess what?... This time, it worked!
And that's when I realised it wasn't my fault! It's because of the footwear I'd grown up with and all the advice I had been using all my life. No wonder I was struggling!
For years they had been telling me, get a gait analysis in the running shop - they can advise on what you NEED to buy. Get these shoes for over-pronation, get these for under-pronation, get these for a neutral gait, get these insoles with super-duper heel cushioning, get these foam filled soles... Even when I qualified as a personal trainer - teach a heel to toe action for running and when I figured out it wasn't true, I was finally able to break out of their chains and get the results I deserved.
The real problem is the sports and fashion industry. They had created a product that wasn't needed, marketed it and created a problem which lead to creating more products to correct the problems and a change in human movement. They were the ones keeping me from joyful, pain free running. They were the ones that had compromised my ability.
Once I realised I finally had drills and the technical knowledge to improve both myself and my clients, that's when we started to progress really FAST!
But it wasn't just me. Take a look at what learning the drills and natural movement has done for others ...
I didn't realise when I started that not only does it make you more efficient as you run but it also:
  •  Increase your feel for the ground in different types of footwear
  •  Improve your balance
  •  Helps you become more flexible
  •  Make you stronger!
And that's why I created the Chrysalis Fitness Training Running Workshop, running on the 30th March 2019 12 - 4pm at The Gym, Telford.

It's taken me years to create it just the way I want and cost me thousands of pounds and hours in perfecting drills, learning the mechanics and neurology that goes into movement. But, you know what, it was totally worth it.

It not only makes running easier but also educates, so that you understand the reasons why it works so well.

What used to take so much energy and time to train, takes so much less now. And it makes it so much more enjoyable!

3 little secrets to running...

 Secrets #1: Posture
 Secrets #2: Rhythm
 Secrets #3: Relaxation
  •  The drills and techniques change your posture, so you can run faster with less effort.
  •  Train the body to use the tendons and muscles in the way they evolved, so you can run further with less effort.
  •  Train the joints and brain to reduce impact, so you can seriously lower your risk of injury.
  •  It makes you aware of where you will have muscle imbalances, so you can train to prevent pain.
But don't just take my word for it, here's what others are saying...
Here's A Summary of What You Will Get:
But before you get started, let me ask you a question...

Would you like to get access to everything I've learnt, over the last few years, about tweaking running technique?
For less than the cost of a pair of technical running shoes, you can get access to all the techniques, tricks and exercises I've learned to become a more skilled runner. As well as my personal coaching for 4 hours you'll also get...
Secret #1: Before And After Video Analysis On Your Movement
You will be recorded as an individual and receive the videos as a way of seeing the difference and what you can work on. Learn with like minded people
Secret #2: Drills To Improve Body Alignment And Flexibility
Exercises that will change your life.
Secret #3: A Post Workshop E-Book to Help Guide You
In the book will be pictures from the workshop, exercise guides and the fundamentals of movement. You will also have access to a private Facebook group to keep the support going and allow everyone to ask any questions they may have
But Rob... How Much Does It Cost?...
The total value of all this is well over £2000 because of the time and money I've invested in learning to become the best coach I can. The time and money that went into breaking myself and realising there was a better way. When you add my personal coaching, the use of The Gym, Telford as a venue and use of video analysis software.

If all this did was make you feel like a champion, would it be worth it?
If all this did was to enable you to run without the aid of supports or painkillers, would it be worth it?

I'm NOT going to charge you £2000. I'm only going to charge you £60. For too long the sports companies have been taking your money, whether to buy their shoes or in physio and rehab costs, I wanted to offer a solution that wouldn't break the bank.
I'm going to take all the risk and give you my 'Forrest Gump Guarantee'. If you don't think you've benefited from the workshop and no longer want the bonus content at the end... I'll give you your money back.
  Get This Amazing Opportunity Below:
But you must act now, I don't know if I'll ever do this again... or at this price. It takes place on the 30th March 2019... there's not long!

I'm giving you the best chance I can to secure a spot, so, should anyone drop out, this page will be live for entry up until 10am on the 30th March. But if the places are gone, they're gone!

I've limited this to only 20 places... this gives me the best opportunity to coach and mentor everyone and get your videos done. It also doesn't clog up the treadmills for all the other gym goers and gives enough space on the functional area floor.

Just imagine what life will be like when you can run without fear of anything twinging or breaking into a limp. When you can take part in a run and say "I ran the best I could".

So, click on the button below right now and you'll be taken to a secure order form. After you put in your card information, you'll receive a confirmation  email with details of the venue and a health questionnaire to fill out.

For those who are already signing up, this is what's going to happen next...
You'll receive your confirmation and the PAR-Q in an email. If you don't get the PAR-Q, don't panic! I will have spares on the day. You will also have my email and phone number should you have any questions. If you're a member at The Gym, great! If not, when you arrive press the buzzer as you enter and I'll let you in.
You see... it doesn't really matter to me if you sign up right now or not.

I'll still be there on the 30th, helping the people that secured their place. However, without my guidance and the support of the group, you'll ALWAYS be working harder than you need to.

I know it sounds kind of harsh but I think you'll agree that it's true.
Remember, you get 4 hours(+) of coaching, exercises to take away, video analysis of your movement before and after, a free e-book from the workshop, as much information as I can give you, a Facebook support group to bounce questions and ideas around, less pain, more efficiency, better posture and the ability to run how you've always dreamed.
